He is risen

This beautiful Easter morning, we hear the angel of the Lord at the tomb speaking to the grieving women who had come out to finish the ritual preparation of Jesus’ body.  “You seek Jesus who was crucified.  He’s not here, for He has risen, just as He had told you He would.” This angel didn’t even have the decency to ask these ladies what they were seeking that early Sunday morning.  He knew why they were there, and he told them flat-out that they were seeking the wrong things in the wrong places.

In this 21st century there are still many people who are looking for Jesus among the dead. Think of scholars who study the words of Jesus and the gospel manuscripts at faculties of theology in many Universities who do not believe in Christ’s resurrection. Even as I am writing this message there many archaeologists who have been and are still trying to find Jesus’ body and bones in the tomb in the Holy Land although the results that they get year after year is empty tomb. They are looking for Jesus among the dead. The truth is that if they continue looking for Jesus among the dead they will never find him. He’s not here, for He has risen, just as He told you He would.” “Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!”

If you are looking for Him, then look for him in the Holy Scriptures and the Sacrament of the Holy Communion where His body and blood.
