St.Barnabas Pastor Installation

Bishop Matti Väisänen installed Pastor Richard Ondicho for IELC St.Barnabas congregation on 18th April 2010. The ceremony took place at the beginning of Divine Service. We are privileged provided that this was Bishop Väisänen’s first installation service since his consecration on March 20th 2010.

The installation ceremony for a pastor is important to the pastor and to the church. It is a way for the church to get behind the pastor and say, “we are going to follow your leadership.” It is a time for the pastor to say, “I am going to love you and lead you.”

May God bless him and lead him into his correct ways, give him wisdom to take care of his sheep, bless his family and all the work of their hands. Use him to spread the Gospel and be an example to Gods followers. We pray that IELC St.Barnabas continue to grow and serve people who seek to know God. We pray for all Luther Foundation congregations, and their pastors to continue the good work to serve God in true faith and protect the word of God. Amen.

It was a privilege for me to be your unexpected guest during this very special installation!
I was grounded in Helsinki that very Sunday due to the ash-cloud. I found your church via this website an thus was able to celebrate your Sunday mass.
Your congretation is very blessed with Pastor Richard, he is a ‘called shepard’ that is very clear, I like his Newsletters, and feel conneected to your congregation.
May God bless you all, greetings from Holland,
    Balt

    Hello Balt,

It was real a blessing having you with us on such a special day. And we are grateful that instead of going back to your hotel and rest, you decided to come and share the gospel of our savior Jesus Christ with us. God bless you. And welcome again anytime you visit Helsinki.

    Blessings.
