“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing”. 1 Thessalonians 5:11.
By the grace of God we had visitors from Sudan, Rev.Noah Wilson and his wife Lilian. Their visit was not anticipated but the unexpected guests brought us joy and made our divine service colourful.
Rev. Wilson the pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sudan is a visitor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland the Parish of Vaasa. They faced many challenges on their way from Africa. Reaching Amsterdam Airport, they were held by immigration and questioned for five good hours. They said that they almost gave up and wanted to ask for their passports back and return to Africa. But because they were invited by different people they thought it wise to continue. Their attendance was a great encouragement to us. Their presence in our divine service brought us live picture of the young Church that we have been praying for.
Rev.Wilson confessed that now they understand why they were delayed. They felt as if God wanted them to see St.Barnabas IELC. We thank God that He led them to be part of us in the service. We look forward to seeing them once more before they travel back to Sudan after their three months stay in Finland.
